Stree 2 story centers on a group of friends who have to stop a cruel monster who is kidnapping Chanderi’s women. Amar Kaushik, Niren Bhatt, and Jio Studios came together on making the 2024 Indian Hindi-language a comedy horror film Stree 2: Sarkate Ka Aatank, which translates to “Woman 2: Terror of the Headless.” It is the follow-up to Stree (2018) and the fifth book in the Maddock Supernatural Universe. Starring in the movie are Abhishek Banerjee, Pankaj Tripathi, Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, and Aparshakti Khurana.
In October 2018, Kaushik initially indicated his intention in creating a Stree sequel. Rajkumar Rao stated in February 2022 that the project is in under development, but the original writers and producers Raj & DK are no longer involved because they had broken up with producer Dinesh Vijan over disagreements over the franchise’s rights. Consequently, Bhatt assumed the role of writer. Vijan and Jyoti Deshpande made the official announcement of the sequel in April 2023. The main photography started in July of the same year and ended in mid-2024, mostly in Chanderi and Bihar. Sachin-Jigar wrote the film’s musical score, and Justin Varghese contributed more music. Hemanti Sarkar handled the editing, while Jishnu Bhattacharjee handled the cinematography.

Stree 2 Story : Read The Full Story of Stree 2
The Stree 2 story begins with Stree set to re-enter Chanderi, the scenario that closed the previous Stree movie. She decides to depart after noticing a statue of herself at the town entrance bearing the words, “o stree raksha karna” (oh woman guard us). A headless ghost known as “Sarkata” is a new threat that Chanderi must contend with after years of absence. He kidnaps ladies at night and takes them to a terrible alternate universe. Unaware of the ghost’s existence, the villagers wrongly think the vanished ladies had moved on to more promising situations. Vicky (Raj Kumar Rao), who is still in love with the Girl with No Name (Shradhha Kapoor), sometimes known as “She,” often imagines seeing her in front of him. Rudra (Pankaj Tripathi), meantime, gets an anonymous letter that says “vo aayega” and has pages missing from the Chanderi Puran.
One evening, Sarkata kidnaps Bittu’s girlfriend, Chitti (Anya Singh). The presence of the ghost is attested to by a stoner beggar who saw the kidnapping. Bittu (Aparshakti Khurana), Rudra (Pankaj Tripathi), and Vicky (Raj Kumar Rao) sift through the ripped pages of the Chanderi Puran to find the source of Sarkata. They learn that Sarkata is the angry ghost of Chandrabhan, the former village chief who killed courtesan Stree by burning her alive and murdering her husband. Sarkata has returned to target progressive women after Stree left Chanderi. The companions seek find Jana in Delhi, who was formerly possessed by Stree, after realizing they need Stree’s assistance to beat Sarkata. (Here is much more twist in the Stree 2 story)
Reluctantly, Jana (Abhishek Banerjee), who lives with his cousin Bhaskar (Varun Dhawan), agrees to help when he learns the true motive behind their staging of a play (a scene from Bhediya) and is enticed back to Chanderi. Sarkata attacks Jana and almost kills him while he searches the old fort for Stree. Jana then sees visions of the parallel universe where the women who have been abducted are being held hostage. The party is astonished when Jana comes back to life because they thought he was dead, and Sarkata follows them as they barely escape the fort.
Mystery Girl (Shraddha Kapoor) emerges while Sarkata attacks the town, and she uses the powers of Stree’s braid connected to her hair to fight Sarkata and save the group. The frightened women of the community assume that Sarkata’s appearance is the result of Vicky’s defeating Stree.
Vicky is persuaded that he is the best person for the job because of his pure soul in response to their demand to accept responsibility for the new threat. Mystery Girl gives Vicky a knife made of magic and tells him to chop off half of Sarkata’s head with it. Then they plans a dance performance by Rudra’s lover Shama (Tamannah Bhatia) in order to trap Sarkata. Vicky tries to kill Sarkata during the performance, but he is not successful. Then, every man in the room is under Sarkata’s control—Vicky, Rudra, and Jana excepted. After Bittu and the other possessed men, including Sarkata, kidnap Shama, the ladies of the community are under their influence.
(Twist begin in the Stree 2 story) In a desperate attempt to find a way out, they pursues a lead from the anonymous letter to a mental health facility, where they come upon a Sarkata descendent. The man (Akshay Kumar) discloses that only a being that is “half of both”—neither entirely human nor fully female—can destroy Sarkata. Armed with this knowledge, She (Mystery Girl) creates a creature that can penetrate Sarkata’s lair by fusing her body with Vicky’s. Vicky and She encounter Sarkata within the lair. Vicky uses the magical dagger to chop Sarkata’s head in two, but each head that is severed grows back into several new heads. When Bhaskar (Varun Dhawan) appears in his werewolf form and overwhelms them, he attacks Sarkata.
But when Sarkata reattaches his head and defeats Bhaskar, the fight turns deadly. She calls out to her mother, who turns out to be Stree, in a last-ditch effort. When Stree shows up, Vicky helps her overcome Sarkata by helping her take his corpse into the lava and execute another beheading, ending Sarkata’s life. The women are set free and the men are freed from the ghost’s hold following Sarkata’s defeat. Heroes are honored in the form of Vicky and his buddies. She whispers her name to Vicky before revealing that she is a ghost and having to depart.
In the woods, Bhaskar, now human, receives clothes from Jana and asks Jana to set him up with She, to which he declines, but Bhaskar continues to plead. In a mid-credits scene, a mysterious pot containing Sarkata’s remains reaches the mental institution, where his descendant inhales the flaming smoke from the remains and becomes possessed by the monster, hinting at the return of the terror.

Is stree 2 story is real or fake?
The story of Stree is reportedly based on a real incident that took place in South India. Around 1990, a rumor spread in Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka, about a witch who roamed the streets at night, targeting men. It was said that she would knock on doors, and any man who opened the door would be killed within 24 hours.
To protect themselves from the rumored witch, people in Bengaluru found a unique solution. They began using the phrase ‘Naale Ba,’ which means ‘come tomorrow’ in Kannada. Residents wrote ‘Naale Ba’ on the doors and walls of their homes, believing that the witch would read the message and leave, only to return the next day—thus avoiding harm. This practice became a widespread way to ward off the evil spirit.
