At a rally in Gharaunda in support of BJP candidate Harvinder Kalyan, Manohar Lal Khattar declared, “We are ready with an offer and if Kumari Selja comes, we are ready to induct her.”
In response to rumors that she was avoiding the campaign for the October 5 Haryana assembly elections, senior Congress politician and MP Kumari Selja, a well-known Dalit face, has been invited to join the saffron party by Union Minister and senior BJP leader Manohar Lal Khattar.
Prior to the assembly elections, Manhohar Lal Khattar, the previous chief minister of Haryana, also brought up the supposed internal strife within the Congress state organization.
On Friday night, Manohar Lal Khattar was speaking to a crowd in Gharaunda in favor of BJP candidate Harvinder Kalyan.
The Haryana Congress is rife with internal strife, and its chief ministerial candidate is unclear. Congress politician Bhupinder Singh Hooda and his son Deepender Hooda are engaged in a brawl. While the son says he will, the father says he will take over as CM. In addition to them, other leaders are also interested in the CM Post “, he stated.
Subsequently, in response to a question from the media regarding Kumari Selja’s potential BJP membership, Khattar said, “It is a world of possibilities and possibilities cannot be ruled out so everything will be known when the right time comes.”
Kumari Selja turns down Manohar lal Khattar’s Invitation
Kumari Selja made an exclusive statement on Monday at the Panchayat AajTak Haryana 2024 event, saying, “BJP leaders should refrain from giving me advice.” Congress is as much a part of me as my father, who died draped in the Tricolor. One day, I shall too wear that same tricolor.”
The Congress leader spoke at the Panchayat AajTak 2024 event, addressing important topics related to the impending elections in Haryana. “Discussions that take place within the party are never disclosed to the public. Such issues are part of internal decision-making, and the party is moving forward,” she clarified.
Selja responded, “It’s up to the party to make decisions, and anyone can stake their claim,” when questioned about the choices the party had made about candidacies. It’s possible that some people were scared off by something I said, but that’s the nature of politics.
She made it clear that she wasn’t fighting for her own benefit. “I applied to run for the assembly seat from Uklana, but I was not given a ticket. That doesn’t mean, though, that my involvement in politics ends there. In the future, there will be additional opportunities,” she said.
She said, “It’s not clear yet” when asked who would become the Chief Minister in the event that Congress wins the election. Time will tell, but the party high command will make the final decision.”
Rahul Gandhi cracks whip as Hooda-Selja rift widens
Rahul Gandhi has intervened to attempt to patch things up in the wake of this catastrophe. He has assigned Ashok Gehlot, the party’s Haryana election coordinator, the duty of persuading Selja to return to the fray. Ajay Maken, the party treasurer, who oversaw the candidate screening process, has also been asked to get in touch with her.
Rahul’s message is quite clear: factionalism is not an option, and the party has to put on a united face. The BJP, which is in power, is keen to take advantage of the division. Selja has been invited to join Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar’s party and leave the Congress.
Selja’s familiar sources discounted the likelihood of her leaving the celebration. Nonetheless, the internal conflict within Congress will undoubtedly affect the party’s electoral results in the state.
