Regarding the Tirumala laddu Prasadam controversy, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu attacked the former YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government on Friday. He promised that no one would escape punishment from his government for damaging the reputation of the Tirumala shrine and manipulating the feelings of its followers.
Controversy Started as Minister Lokesh Alleges Use of Animal Fat in Tirupati Prasadam
On September 18, Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh shared a video of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, which sparked controversy. They claimed that the sanctified treats, known as “Tirupati Prasadam,” at the Sri Venkateswara temple in Tirupati, were made with “animal fat, instead of ghee.”
CM Chandrababu Naidu Accused Former YSR Congress Party of using Animal Fat in Tirupati Prasadam
Engaging in the “Idi manchi prabhutvam” program in Maddiralapadu, Prakasam district, Mr. Naidu claimed that the actions made by the previous government damaged the reputation of the Tirumala shrine and Laddu Prasadam.
To prepare the Laddu Prasadam, adulterated ghee was utilized. The reigning diety was served Naivedyam made with impure ghee, with the accuser stating that the ghee was being supplied at ₹320 per kilogram. How can the contractor offer the same ghee at ₹320 a kg when it was sold for ₹500 a kg? It would not do to hide under the tenders. The former administration tried to manipulate the followers’ emotions. Both the Prasadams and the Anna Prasadam were of a pitifully poor caliber. He claimed that the darshans were in the same situation.
“I started the TTD purification process as soon as I assumed office. Laddu’s quality has increased. Anyone found guilty of using tainted ghee in prasadasm and damaging the reputation of the Tirumala temple will face harsh consequences from the authorities. He said, “The people would never trust them.”
YSR Congress Party Denied The Allegations
Rajya Sabha MP for the YSCRP, YV Subba Reddy, dismissed the accusations made by the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, calling them “baseless” and said they hurt Hindu emotions.
“I have faith in Lord Balaji. Are you (N Chandrababu Naidu) prepared to swear an oath before Lord Balaji as I am? We’ll take legal action if you refuse to take the oath,” he threatened.
He went on to say that the coalition administration in the state had failed to govern effectively, and that’s why they created this problem in order to cover it up.
